Eyebrow Lift: Subdermal Induction of Heat

This lady suffered from her eyebrows feeling heavy, limiting her visual field and hindering daily activities and her work. She preferred not to get an operation or to be treated with threads, considering her young age and wishing to try the least invasive treatment first. Under local anaesthesia, heat was induced under the skin of the forehead with a sterile cannula to stimulate the formation of collagen. Three months after the treatment, the symptoms had disappeared. When the frontal (forehead) muscles have to work less to help keeping the eyelids open, they relax a bit, which can slightly decrease eyebrow elevation. While the external observer hardly sees any difference of eyebrow position, the lower muscle tension makes an important difference for the patient and gives here a more relaxed look.
