Facial Spider Veins: Vascular Laser

This lady had a spider naevus on her left cheek. In the middle of the lesion, the dilated inflow vessel is visible as a slightly darker spot. It is surrounded by the dilated network of capillaries.
One treatment of a few NdYag laser pulses sufficed to clear the lesion. After six weeks there was still some redness (middle picture), that eventually disappeared.
Age category: 45 - 49 years.
