Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) with Liposuction

Liposculpture (aspiration of fat excess) can safely be combined with open surgery. Without liposculpture, it is difficult to pull the skin and a thick layer of fat on the upper half of the tummy all the way down to cover the lower half.
After the liposculpture, the skin below the belly-button was removed. The remaining soft tissues were pulled down to cover the lower half of the tummy. The belly-button was put back in its original position.
The technique has to be adapted to the patient's personal situation. This lady had a horizontal scar four centimetres above the belly-button. Therefore it was necessary to remove extra skin above the belly-button. Hence, the lower incision had to be placed higher than normal.
