The volume of the fatty tissue under the lateral part of the eyebrows decreases over the years. We also lose some bone above and lateral to the bony ridge that supports the eyebrow. This contributes to the sagging of the eyebrows and the upper lids. It increases the visibility of the skeletal contour.
A filler can simply be injected under the eyebrows through a very thin needle in the office. It hides the bony margin and forms a larger support for the soft tissues. In this way it appears to open the eyes.
Volume enhancement of the eyebrows is frequently part of a full facial treatment.
