Endoscopic tummy tuck (abdominoplasty)

After four pregnancies, this lady's abdominal muscles were weakened and she had developed a fat deposit anteriorly over the tummy. The skin was in good condition, almost without stretch marks and without a crease between the pubic mound and the belly. Excess fat on the abdomen, the waistline and the back was removed by liposculpture. In the same operative session an endoscopic procedure was performed through an incision of 4 cm through the umbilicus and a second 4 cm incision just above the pubic mound. The fat layer was detached from the muscles so that the distended abdominal muscles could be sutured together over the midline.
For security reasons, the liposuction above the abdominal muscles was limited. The patient came back for a touch up liposculpture 7 months later.
Age category: 30 - 34 years.
