Reconstruction of congenital earlobe deficiency

This man was born without left earlobe. In a first, small operation under local anaesthesia, the skin behind the ear was turned down and forward and replaced by moving adjacent skin. In a second operation, the little, round prominence on the lower border of the ear was removed. The right ear is shown for comparison.
