Because of sagging of the cheeks, volume loss of the jawbone and diminishing support by the teeth, the corners of the mouth turn downward over the years, and a wrinkle develops in a furrow between the cheek and the lower lip (marionette lines). By filler injections (1 ml in this case), the corners can be slightly elevated and the transition between the cheek and the lower lip is made shallower.
