A laceration by a grinding wheel, more or less vertically through the right eyebrow and the upper eyelid, was treated by excision of the torn wound margins and suturing. One month later, there was pronounced hardening and redness. The retraction of the scar interrupted the natural curve of the upper border of the eyelid and hindered eyelid closure significantly.
An attempt was made to improve scar maturation by two sessions of PRP injections, with an interval of three days.
It is not possible to determine in one individual to what extent the natural scar maturation was improved by the injections. Nevertheless, clinical research on groups of patients has shown the positive effects of the treatment.
