Upper eyelids

This gentleman suffered from serious visual impairment because of the sagging skin on the upper eyelid. This is especially annoying in the evening, when the eyelid muscles and forehead muscles are tired.
A simple correction was performed on the upper eyelids under local anaesthesia. Skin excess was removed. The remaining skin was reattached to the lid border in order to prevent sagging onto the eyelashes.
Removing skin excess does not treat the low and asymmetric position of the brows. This is why even after the operation the eyelid skin is still in a low position, and why there is still a difference between both lids. Nevertheless, the simple operation offered a good treatment for the complaint.
Age category: 70-74 yrs.
