Eyelid correction: ptosis

This patient dit not only complain about skin excess on the upper eyelids. The position of the eyelid margin was also too low. There was no visual impairment, but the forehead muscles had to be used permanently to keep the upper eyelids in an acceptable position.
Excess skin and muscle were removed from the upper eyelids. The attachment of the muscle which opens the eyelids (levator palpebrae) was shortened. All layers of the eyelids were attached to each other at the level of the natural eyelid crease.
After the operation, with a relaxed forehead, the upper eyelids remained in a normal position.
